MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State Women's Basketball team scored a 77-68 exhibition victory over Hillsdale (Mich.) on Friday evening at Johnson Arena.
Senior guard
Breuna Jackson scored a career-best 23 points while freshman guard
Ariel Kirkwood achieved a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to the lead the Eagles.
"I liked the fight that I saw tonight in the second half," said MSU head coach
Greg Todd. "They (Hillsdale) are a good Division II team that's strong offensively so I thought to come out with a fairly inexperienced team and play the way we did down the stretch is a positive."
The Eagles used a 17-0 run in the second half to create separation. During the run, Jackson knocked down a pair of triples.
Grace Touchette paced the Chargers with 22 points.
Morehead State opens is 2019-20 season on Nov. 9 at Bowling Green.
