PREVIEW: Women's Basketball Opens 2019-20 Season at Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Morehead State Women's Basketball team will officially begin its 2019-20 season against Bowling Green on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Stroh Center.

The Eagles enter their season-opening game after a week of practice following the team's 77-68 exhibition win over Hillsdale (Mich.) on Nov. 1 at Johnson Arena. In the scrimmage win, senior guard Breuna Jackson knocked down four triples and scored 23 points lead Morehead State.

"We had a good week of practice after the exhibition," said MSU head coach Greg Todd. "It gave our staff to see areas we need to address as both a team and with individual players."

The Falcons, which compete in the Mid-American Conference, opened their season on Wednesday with an 89-62 triumph over Cleveland State at home. Junior Madisen Parker led a trio of 20-point scorers in the victory with a career-high 25 points thanks to a 7-for-11 shooting night from trifecta.

Bowling Green is coached by second-year head coach Robyn Fralick. In 2018-19, Fralick's first season, the Falcons finished 9-21 overall and were 2-16 in the MAC.

"(Bowling Green) returns a good core of players," said Todd. "They're going to prove a good challenge for our fairly inexperienced team. It's a good early season test for us to see where we are at right now."

Saturday's game with be the first meeting between the Eagles and Falcons since Dec. 30, 2003. Bowling Green has won the last four meetings and leads the all-time series 4-2.

Morehead State will look to continue a two-year trend of winning its season-opening game. The 18-19 season kicked off with a win at North Carolina A&T while the 17-18 campaign began with a win at home against Sacramento State.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3. Radio broadcast of the matchup will be on tape delay and broadcast on the Eagle Sports Network following the conclusion of Morehead State Football's PFL game against Valparaiso. Fans can access live statistics on MSUEagles.com.
