For the Third Straight Season, Women's Golf to Compete at the Amelia Island Collegiate

MOREHEAD, Ky. – For the third consecutive season and fourth time overall, Morehead State women's golf will compete at the Amelia Island Collegiate. The two-day event hosted by Jacksonville takes place at the Amelia National Golf Club in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
Morehead State picked up its highest finish at Amelia National Golf Club, finishing seventh place in the team's first appearance at the Amelia Island Collegiate during the 2014-15 season. Last season, the Eagles placed 15th in their spring opener.

Ana Dieguez and junior
Gypsie Hutchinson. Dieguez posted her best finish during the 2016-17 season, placing tied for 47th while Hutchinson posted her best mark, finishing tied for 38th last season.
The Amelia Island Collegiate marks a return to stroke play for the Eagles after having opened the spring portion of the schedule with match play at the Mid-American Match Play Challenge. Morehead State picked up two victories, defeating Ohio and Western Illinois.
The 54-hole event begins with an 8 a.m. ET shotgun start on Monday with two rounds scheduled for Monday and the final round on Tuesday. The two-day event features 16 teams, including Cincinnati, Daytona State, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Marshall, North Florida, Sam Houston State, Samford, UAB, USC Upstate, Western Kentucky, and Winthrop.
