MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State's men's basketball team has been oh so close lately. Three of the last four setbacks have been by just a combined five points. The Eagles will hope to reverse their fortunes Saturday night when they invade the Eblen Center for a battle at Tennessee Tech. Tip-off is at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The Eagles (10-18/6-9 OVC) are in sixth place in the OVC race. A victory would go a long way in helping distance the Eagles from the teams right below them. While they can't overlook anyone in the league, MSU's squad hopes to hand Tennessee Tech its eighth straight loss. The Golden Eagles are 7-21 overall and 3-12 in the OVC.

GAME NOTES

THE SERIES WITH THE GOLDEN EAGLES

Morehead State holds an 85-66 all-time advantage over Tennessee Tech in a series that started in 1950-51. Overall, the Eagles have claimed eight of the last 10 meetings, but TTU has won the last two on its home floor.

Junior guard Jordan Walker scored his 1,000th career point in the game against Austin Peay, entering the TTU contest now with 1,025 career points. Teammate Lamontray Harris reached the milestone on Feb. 2 at Eastern Illinois. Harris and Walker are the 33rd and 34th members of Morehead State's 1,000 point club and are two of eight active OVC players in that club.

Jordan Walker has reached double-figures in points in 12 straight games and 19 of the last 20 games ... A.J. Hicks' assist total of 160 this season is the sixth best single-season assist mark in program history ... Hicks has 17 games with at least six assists ... MSU's point total at Jacksonville State was the firsrt time in eight games the Eagles did not reach 70 points ... MSU is still in sixth place in the OVC ... In the last 11 games, MSU has only had more than 11 turnovers once ... James Baker has at least one blocked shot in 12 straight games.

Morehead State has hit at least one three-pointer in 400 consecutive games, dating back to 2007 when the Eagles were held without a made one from beyond the arc against Jacksonville State.

A victory against Tennessee Tech would secure the Eagles' first season sweep of an OVC opponent, against teams the Eagles play twice this year.
