COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Morehead State women's basketball team will try to take ownership of second place in the Ohio Valley Conference as they matchup with Tennessee Tech on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET inside the Eblen Center.

The Eagles enter the game with a 19-9 overall record and a 10-5 mark against conference competition. The Golden Eagles are 19-7 for the 2019 season and have a 11-4 record against OVC play.

Morehead State defeated Tennessee Tech 77-56 on January 24 at Johnson Arena. If the Eagles were to win on Saturday, the two teams OVC record would stand at 11-5 with MSU owning the head-to-head tiebreaker for second place in the conference.

SERIES VS TENNESSEE TECH
Despite Morehead State having won the previous five meetings, Tennessee Tech holds a 28-59 advantage in the all-time series. Saturday's meeting with the 88th between the two schools. Tech is MSU's second oldest OVC rival behind only Eastern Kentucky.

Morehead State trailed 23-21 after one quarter before instituting a suffocating defensive strategy in the second quarter that held the Golden Eagles to just three points as they ran away with a 77-56 win over Tech at Johnson Arena on Jan. 24. LEGEND STATUS
With 15 points against Jacksonville State on Thursday, senior guard
Miranda Crockett moved past Julie Magrane (1988-92, 1,697) for fourth on the Eagles' all-time scorer's leaderboard. Crockett now sits at 1,705 career points and is just six away from taking over the third spot from Donna Stephens (1978-82, 1,710). Crockett is due to pass Stephens in the game should she continue her streak of double-figure scoring games. Crockett has scored 10+ in 32 consecutive games dating back to Feb. 15, 2018.

NEVER BEFORE
For the first time in program history, the Morehead State women's basketball team has won at least 19 games in three consecutive seasons. The team's win over Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 16 helped the team to the milestone. The win over EKU also gave MSU 10 wins in OVC play, which has now occurred for three consecutive seasons - another first for the program.

Three Eagles have been honored this season by the OVC with weekly honors. Junior

Miranda Crockett (Nov. 20), and senior
Tierra McGowan (Jan. 22) have each won OVC Player of the Week once. Jeune, who sat out last season after transferring from Rutgers, has been named the league's Newcomer of the Week on four different occasions (Nov. 14, Nov. 27, Jan. 8, Jan. 22).

600TH PROGRAM WIN
Morehead State's win over SUIE on Jan. 31, 2019 marked the programs 600th victory. Morehead State, which began playing women's basketball in 1970, has a all-time record of 601-659.

THE TODDFATHER
Head coach
Greg Todd moved to third in the MSU record book for all-time wins with his 77th victory as the bench boss when his team defeated UT Martin on Jan. 19, 2019. Todd surpassed former coach Laura Litter (1997-2005). Todd is in his fifth season at the helm of the program.
