SENIOR SALUTE
The Murray game marks the home finale for seniors
Lamontray Harris and
A.J. Hicks. Harris is a four-year member of the program, while Hicks his finishing his second after transferring in. Harris has 1,084 career points and 618 rebounds, and he was the 33rd member of MSU's 1,000 point club. Harris is also a career 79 percent free throw shooter. Hicks has 285 assists in his 58 games and has scored 663 points.Â
TRENDS AND TIDBITS
Jordan Walker has reached double-figures in points in 13 straight games and 20 of the last 21 games ...
A.J. Hicks' assist total of 163 this season is the fifth best single-season assist mark in program history ... Hicks' 285 career assists is now 10th in program history ...
James Baker has at least one blocked shot in 13 straight games ... MSU's last three OVC games have been decided by a total of seven points.
3-POINT STREAK OVER 400
Morehead State has hit at least one three-pointer in 401 consecutive games, dating back to 2007 when the Eagles were held without a made one from beyond the arc against Jacksonville State.
70 IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
Holding an opponent to fewer than 70 points has been a key stat for the Eagles this season. They are 5-1 when they do that.
AIR JORDAN
Junior guard
Jordan Walker scored 20 points or more for the 11th time this season in the game with Austin Peay. That's the most 20+ point efforts in a year since current Houston Rocket Kenneth Faried totaled 15 performances of 20 or more back in 2010-11.
TOP FIVE IN ASSISTS
Senior guard
A.J. Hicks has dished out at least one assist in all 58 games of his two-year career. Hicks ranks third in the OVC with 163 total assists (5.6 per game). He is now ranked fifth on the MSU single-season assist chart with just 13 more to move as high as third. His career total of 285 is also 10th on the program's career list.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE? NO TROUBLE
Lamontray Harris secured his 10th double-double of the season against Austin Peay. Harris' total is now the most double-doubles in a year since Chad Posthumus recorded 10 in 2013-14.
BLOCK IT BAKER
Sophomore
James Baker has a team-best 47 blocked shots this year, but 17 of those have come just in the last four games. Baker recorded a career-best six denied shots against Eastern Kentucky and nearly matched it with five more against Austin Peay. To put it in perspective, Baker only had seven total blocks his entire freshman season last year.
BAKER COOKS UP A WIN
James Baker's 20 points at Tennessee Tech was a career high, and he did it on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor. Since Jan. 17, Baker has scored in double figures eight times and is shooting 51 percent from three-point range in that span.
STARTERS SEEING LOTS OF ACTION
Of Morehead State's regular starting five (Hicks, Walker, Baker, Harris, Cooper) both Hicks and Walker are averaging nearly 33 minutes per game. Cooper (29.0) and Harris (27.7) are close to that 30 minute plateau, while Baker is averaging 30 minutes per game in the last 13 when he joined the lineup. He has seen at least 30 minutes of floor time in the last seven games.
