MOREHEAD, Ky. – Following the program's lowest 54-hole aggregate score in over 20 years at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships, Morehead State men's golf announces the addition of Brody Webb for the 2019-20 season.
Webb, hailing from Georgetown, Ky., joins newcomers Blake Evans (West Liberty, Ky.) and Jon Kosier (Mount Sterling, Ky.) to comprise the Eagles' incoming class. The addition of Webb also adds another Kentuckian to Morehead State's roster, giving the team eight natives of the Bluegrass State next season.
"Brody will bring a long list of accomplishments with him when he makes the trip from Georgetown to Morehead," said head coach
Matthew Martin. "He already has had some success at Eagle Trace and many other courses across the state."
Competing for Scott County High School and head coach Billy Sargent, Webb earned First Team All-Conference honors in each of his four seasons. As a senior, he was named Conference Player of the Year on his way to a Conference Tournament Championship. Webb set numerous conference records as a senior, including marks for the most conference points in a season, most low medalist honors in a season, and most rounds under par in a season.
During his final campaign in the Cardinal program, Webb claimed five medalist honors, finishing no lower than third in each of the five events. He'd also take home 20 top-10 finishes during his senior campaign. Webb's best finish of the year came at the Pikeville Invitational where he used a season-best low-round 66 to claim the individual championship.
Webb would also earn a spot in the 2018 KHSAA State Golf Tournament after qualifying as an individual following a third-place finish at the Region 9 Tournament. At the state tournament, Webb claimed a top-ten finish, tying for tenth. He fired rounds of 71-77-148 to finish four-over for the event.
"I am excited to see his game continue to develop at the college level. Similar to our other incoming freshmen, Brody will be a great fit for our program on and off the golf course," finished Martin.
