JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Senior Justin Moakler and junior Aaron Wier put the finishing touches on the 2019 Morehead State track and field season by taking part in the 1,500-meter races at the NCAA East Region Prelims Thursday.

While neither qualified for the finals on Saturday, both ran faster times than athletes from Power 5 schools Mississippi, Florida State, Georgetown, Florida and Boston College.

Wier was 41st with a time of 3:57.44, while Moakler closed his successful career with a time of 3:58.69.

Moakler's career was highlighted by running the fastest 8K time in program history in cross country and the second best 10K time.
