MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State women's basketball team has added junior college transfer
Jazzmyn Elston to its roster. Elston, a 5-foot-8 guard from Rossville, Ga., and the niece of the late NFL Hall of Fame defensive end Reggie White, joins the Eagles after playing two seasons at State Fair Community College (Mo.).
"Jazzmyn (Elston) put up great numbers at State Fair," said MSU head coach
Greg Todd. "We knew she was a great shooter, but I've been impressed with her ability to drive the basketball as well. This versatility to shoot and put the ball on the floor will make her a hard player to guard."
During her two seasons at State Fair, Elston saw improvement in scoring, and three-point shooting. The guard averaged 12.6 points per game and hit 33 percent of her triples during her freshman season before seeing her average jump to 15.9 points per game on 37 percent three-point shooting as a sophomore. The improvement earned Elston First-Team All-Conference honors.
Elston will have two years of eligibility remaining and joined the Eagles at the beginning of the fall 2019 semester.
