Women's Golf's MacKenzie Neal Notches First-Career Top-Five as Play Concludes at the MSU Greenbrier Invitational

RESULTS
LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the second straight season, Morehead State women's golf claimed a top-five team and individual finish at the MSU Greenbrier Invitational.
Morehead State finished the second iteration of the MSU Greenbrier Invitational with a top-five placement. The Eagles fired rounds of 318-308-319-945 over the course of 54-holes. This season's total of 945 bested last season's team total by 10 strokes.
Freshman
MacKenzie Neal—playing in her first career team event—captured the first top-five finish of her career, finishing fifth. She fashioned scores of 71-77-76-224, finishing seven strokes off the lead. Neal's opening round 71 marked the first round under par of her career while also being one of three rounds under par during the event.
Freshman
Hailey Rietz—competing as an individual—notched a top-20 finish, concluding play tied for 17th. She led the Eagles with 31 pars throughout the tournament while also adding six birdies, marking down scores of 76-79-78-233. Morehead State's other individual, sophomore
Isabella Washka wrote in totals of 82-82-77-241 to finish tied for 25th.
Finishing tied for 28th, senior
Gypsie Hutchinson crafted scores of 80-74-88-242 to notch the second-highest finish amongst the Eagles' team lineup. Redshirt junior
Bridget Connolly collected a team-high nine birdies over 54 holes, finishing 31st while marking in scores of 83-77-83-243.
Rounding out the Morehead State lineup were sophomores
Elise Alaan and
Sarah Black who finished tied for 34th and 46th, respectively. Alaan crafted marks of 84-80-81-245 while Black marked in totals of 89-88-79-256.
The Eagles return to the course in three weeks, competing at the NKU 36-Hole Invitational. The two-day event tees off from Lassing Pointe Golf Course in Union, Ky. on Oct. 7 and 8.
