Eagle Men Open Music City Road Trip at Tennessee State Thursday Evening

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Morehead State's men's basketball team is in the Music City of Nashville, Tenn., for a two-game OVC road swing. The battle begins Thursday evening when the Eagles face Tennessee State at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Morehead State (9-8/3-1 OVC) finds itself in a solid position opening conference play and bringing a three-game winning streak with it. The Tigers (11-6/3-1) have opened with three wins in four tries as well.

The game will be aired live on ESPN+ as well as WIVY-96.3 FM and MSUEagles.com. Following Thursday's action, the men stay in Nashville to play at Belmont Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m.

GAME NOTES

• In a tightly contested series, Morehead State has a 38-35 upperhand against Tennessee State. However, in games in Nashville, the Eagles have dropped the matchup in three of the last four seasons.

• Morehead State has started 3-1 in league play for the first time since 2015-16 and for only the second time since the 2010-11 season.

• Of the Eagles' 72 points per game, an average of 35 per game have been scored from inside the paint this season.

• Senior guard Jordan Walker scored a season-high 28 points against SIUE and made his first 14 free throws. Walker managed to hit 23 straight free throws in the last three games before misfiring on his final toss. Walker also now has 182 career three-pointers and is ranked fifth in all-time three-point makes in program history.

• In the last five games, the Eagles averaged 81.8 points per outing and boasted five players averaging in double figures - all between 10.5 and 13.0 per game.

• Tyzhaun Claude's 7.2 rebounds per game is the best rebounding average for a freshman in the OVC and ranks 10th among all freshmen in Division I currently.

• Junior guard Juice Thomas leads the OVC and ranks among the top 20 in the nation with 41 steals. He is already nearing the top 20 cut-off (53) for steals in a single season in program history.

• Senior guard Jordan Walker is the second player in program history with at least 1,200 career points, 200 assists, 100 steals and 175 three-pointers made, with the only other player accomplishing that being Ricky Minard.

• Senior guard Djimon Henson has scored in double figures in six of the last seven games.

• Sophomore forward Jaden Stanley-Williams scored a career-best 13 points off the bench against SIUE. He has 31 points in the last four games after registering only 14 in the first 13 games.

• Morehead State has hit at least one three-pointer in 422 consecutive games. The last time the Eagles failed to drain one from distance was in 2007 against Jacksonville State.
