A MATCHUP (ALMOST) 30 YEARS IN THE MAKING

Flash forward 29 years, 11 months, and 25 days to the present where the schools will meet for the 63rd time. In the all-time series, Morehead State holds a 35-27 advantage.

CHANGING ITS TUNE
Since ending an 11-game skid vs. Tennessee State on Feb. 15, 2017, Morehead State has changed its tune and turned in five-straight wins of its own.  During the Eagles five wins over the Lady Tigers, two have come in Nashville at TSU.

ROOKIE REJECTIONS RECORD
With nine blocks against SIUE on Jan.9., guard Ariel Kirkwood surpassed Brooke Todd (2014-18) for the top spot on Morehead State's single-season record for blocked shots by a freshman. The rookie guard has tallied 41 blocks in just 16 games. Todd, who finished her career with 264 rejections which ranks as the second-most in MSU history and the third-most in OVC history, blocked 33 shots in 30 games during her freshman season in 2014-15.

BEST IN CLASS
Among freshman guards at the NCAA Division I level, the six-foot rookie Ariel Kirkwood is one of the nation's best. The six-foot Milwaukee native leads the group in rebounds per game (8.8) and blocked shots (41).

ACTION JACKSON &
Senior Breuna Jackson has been a part of a historic run for the Morehead State Women's Basketball program. Since stepping on campus in 2016, the 5-foot-4 guard has been apart of three consecutive 20-plus win seasons, two trips to the WNIT, and the school's first-ever postseason victory. This season, Jackson has stepped into a leadership role as the Eagles lone four-year senior - and she has produced. Jackson currently leads MSU in points per game (10.6), three-point shooting (24-67,.358), and free-throw shooting (41-44,.939).

Entering Thursday's game, Jackson's .932 clip at the charity stripe ranks third in NCAA DI and first in the OVC.

OVC HONORS
Freshmen guards Tomiyah Alford and Ariel Kirkwood have both received OVC Freshman of the Week honors during the season. Kirkwood received the recognition on Dec. 10 while Alford won back-to-back honors on Dec. 17 and Dec. 23.
