NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Morehead State Women's Basketball team is set to play an Ohio Valley Conference matchup against Belmont at the Curb Event Center on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET.

GAME NOTES
MUSIC CITY FINALE
Morehead State is in Nashville, Tenn., to take on the Belmont Bruins. The game comes following an Eagles' 84-47 win on Thursday over Tennessee State. MSU enters the matchup with a 7-10 overall record and a 3-2 OVC mark. Belmont hosts sporting a 9-7 overall record and a 4-1 record against league competition.
THE SERIES
Belmont leads the all-time series against Morehead State 15-3. The last MSU win over the Bruins came on Feb. 4, 2014 - a 66-55 win in Morehead, Ky. That win is also the only for MSU coach
Greg Todd over the Bruins.
BATTLE ON THE BOARDS
Saturday's matchup features the OVC's leading rebounders in Ellie Harmeyer and
Ariel Kirkwood. Harmeyer is currently pacing the league with 10.9 boards per game while the freshman Kirkwood is second with 8.8 per game.
ACTION JACKSON
Senior
Breuna Jackson has been a part of a historic run for the Morehead State Women's Basketball program. Since stepping on campus in 2016, the 5-foot-4 guard has been a part of three consecutive 20-plus win seasons, two trips to the WNIT, and the school's first-ever postseason victory. This season, Jackson has stepped into a leadership role as the Eagles lone four-year senior - and she has produced. Jackson currently leads MSU in points per game (10.8), three-point shooting (27-72,.375), and free-throw shooting (46-49,.939).
Entering Saturday's game, Jackson's .939 clip at the charity stripe ranks second in NCAA DI and first in the OVC.
ROOKIE REJECTIONS RECORD
With nine blocks against SIUE on Jan.9., guard
Ariel Kirkwood surpassed
Brooke Todd (2014-18) for the top spot on Morehead State's single-season record for blocked shots by a freshman. The rookie guard has tallied 41 blocks in just 16 games. Todd, who finished her career with 264 rejections which ranks as the second-most in MSU history and the third-most in OVC history, blocked 33 shots in 30 games during her freshman season in 2014-15.
BEST IN CLASS
Among freshman guards at the NCAA Division I level, the six-foot rookie
Ariel Kirkwood is one of the nation's best. The six-foot Milwaukee native leads the group in rebounds per game (8.8) and blocked shots (41).
OVC HONORS
Freshmen guards
Tomiyah Alford and
Ariel Kirkwood have both received OVC Freshman of the Week honors during the season. Kirkwood received the recognition on Dec. 10 while Alford won back-to-back honors on Dec. 17 and Dec. 23.
THE TODDFATHER
Head coach
Greg Todd achieved career victory #250 on Jan. 2, against Jacksonville State. The sixth-year MSU bench boss is currently at 94 wins at MSU which ranks third in program history. Prior to MSU, Todd led DIII Transylvania (Ky.) for seven seasons and compiled a record of 157-64.
