Women's Basketball Hosts Tennessee Tech to Close Opening OVC Weekend

MOREHEAD, Ky
. – The Morehead State Women's Basketball team is set to host Tennessee Tech in Ohio Valley Conference play on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET at Johnson Arena.
 
 "(Tennessee) Tech is very experienced team and probably one of the top teams in our league," said MSU head coach Greg Todd. "They have a plethora or shooters and have some nice post players. We will need to be prepared and ready to compete for 40 minutes."

GAME NOTES
 
OVC PLAY: GAME TWO
The Morehead State Women's Basketball team will look to improve to 2-0 in Ohio Valley Conference on Saturday afternoon when it welcomes Tennessee Tech to Johnson Arena. The Eagles, who are 5-8 overall and 5-2 at home during the season, host after topping Jacksonville State 68-47 thanks to big second half run. The Golden Eagles visit Morehead with an 8-4 overall mark and are also off to a 1-0 OVC start as they defeated Eastern Kentucky 60-42 on Thursday in Richmond, Ky.
 
THE SERIES: ALL BLUE & GOLD LATELY
Despite Tennessee Tech holding a 59-29 advantage over Morehead State in the all-time series, MSU has won the last six games dating back to the 2016-17 season. MSU head coach Greg Todd is 9-1 against the Golden Eagles since taking charge of the program in 2014.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Morehead State: The Eagles ran away from Jacksonville State in the second half in a 67-48 win on Thursday at home. Senior Jaleesa Avery led the Eagles with 13 points while freshman Ariel Kirkwood tied a career-best rebound effort with 14 boards.
Tennessee Tech: The Golden Eagles never trailed during a 60-42 win at Eastern Kentucky on Thursday. TTU was paced by guard Kesha Brady's 17 points which included four makes from beyond the arc.
