Throwback Thursday: Reviewing the Accomplishments of 3x All-OVC Runner Ron Duncan
MOREHEAD, Ky. --- Today we look back at the career of one of Morehead State's all-time best runners, Ron Duncan. An instant contributor from the day he set foot on campus, Duncan was a key member of MSU's Cross Country teams during his time at MSU.

In 2006, he was named Second-Team All-OVC as a true freshman after placing 10th in the OVC Championships with a time of 25:53.00. He finished 20th at the Pre-Nationals Race, crossing the line at 25:34.00. During his sophomore campaign, he was named First-Team All-OVC with a fourth place finish of 25:25.11 at the OVC Championships. He broke MSU's 8k school record, a mark that had previously lasted for 28 years, finishing at 24:15.00 at his second Pre-Nationals. In 2008, he was again named First-Team All-OVC after finishing in seventh place at the OVC Championships with a time of 26:05.6. During that season, he was twice named OVC Male Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Throughout his first three years at MSU, Duncan led the Eagles in every race except for his first as a collegiate runner while earning six top 10 finishes. Morehead State finished no lower than fourth in the OVC Championships during seasons in which he competed, including three straight top-3 finishes from 2006-08.

Before attending MSU, Duncan competed out of his hometown of Flemingsburg, Ky. where he was named All-KYOVC, All-EKC, and All-State every year dating back to his eighth grade season. He was named an AAU All-American and, at the time, set the national record for his age group of 13-14 year-olds in the 1,600 meters. While at Fleming County High School, Duncan set school records in the 800, 1,600, and the 3,200 meter races as well as setting the Kentucky state record in the 1,600-meter run. He also competed in track where he was a six-time indoor state champion and a four-time outdoor state champion.
