MOREHEAD, Ky. – With the retirement of longtime Director of Amateur and Professional Competitions, Bill Coomer, PGA in the spring of 2021, two former Morehead State men's golfers are set to take on new roles with Golf House Kentucky.
Former Eagles Brad Martin (2011-15) and Michael Vick (2013-14) will be transitioning to new roles within the organization's amateur and junior golf divisions.
Martin, who joined Golf House Kentucky in early 2018, transitions to the organization's Director of Amateur Competitions from the Director of Operations, a position he had held the past two seasons. His duties as Director of Operations will be absorbed into his new position as administration of all Kentucky Golf Association events and United States Golf Association qualifiers will be under his oversight.
The 2021 Tournament season will begin the fourth season for Martin with Golf House Kentucky, having previously served two and a half years as a Tournament Director with the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour in Auburn, Ala.
Vick assumes the role of Golf House Kentucky's Director of Junior Golf, which oversees the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour, and other components of Kentucky Junior Golf. He moves into the position after serving with the organization as a Coordinator of Junior Golf in 2020, this after serving as a three-month intern with Golf House Kentucky in 2019.
Both men will transition into their new roles over the next few months before fully assuming their respective roles during the 2021 tournament season.
