MOREHEAD, Ky. -- In the first of two weekend home matches with fellow Ohio Valley Conference foe UT Martin, it was the Eagles who got the better of the Skyhawks Saturday.

MSU topped UTM 4627-4552, marking the hosts' second win over UTM this season.

In Air Rifle, sophomores Grace Weber and Elizabeth Plecity turned in the top scores of the day, each with a 590. Freshman Andrew Morris contributed with his career-best of 587.  Juniors Erin Diehl and Amber Schifano rounded out the lineup with 586 totals. Freshman Sally Reeke was not in the counters but did fire a solid 582, while sophomore Katie Frye registered a 580.

On the Smallbore range, the Eagles carded a team total of 2278, besting the visitors by 35 points. 

Diehl led the charge with a 574, while Frye and sophomore Bryce Ward were close with 572s. Senior Ryan Hinson also notched a 572.

The two squads will be back in action again on Sunday at Button Range.
