MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Looking to gain some momentum heading into the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, Morehead State men's basketball team will face a stiff challenge Thursday night at Austin Peay. The Govs are the current co-leaders of the OVC. Tip-off is set for approximately 9 p.m. ET following the women's game.
It's the lone matchup between the Eagles (13-16/7-9 OVC)Â and Govs (19-10/13-3 OVC)Â this season as MSU has faced all 11 other league teams at least once prior to Thursday.

FIVE TIDBITS ON THE MATCHUP
• Morehead State and Austin Peay are completely deadlocked at 55 games apiece in the all-time series, which began in 1963-64. The Govs have had the upperhand recently with a four-game winning streak.
• MSU finished 11-4 in home games this year, marking the 14th consecutive season the Eagles have recorded a home record above .500.
• Freshman forward
Tyzhaun Claude leads all OVC freshmen with 6.3 rebounds per game.
• Morehead State ranks at the top of the OVC charts in blocked shots with 132. It marks the second straight season the Eagles have more than 130 blocks and averaged more 4.0 per game. Last season, the Eagles finished with 137 swats.
• Freshman guard
Ta'lon Cooper made just his sixth career start against Tennessee State and responded with 11 points and eight assists in a career-high 37 minutes. In the past two games, Cooper has 14 assists and only one turnover in 71 minutes of court time.

Despite a valiant second-half effort after trailing by more than 20, the Morehead State men's basketball team ultimately saw its season come to a close on Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the OVC Tournament as the Eagles fell 95-81 to the Austin Peay Govs.
The Eagles led 5-2 early but a 13-4 Gov run pushed their advantage to 15-9. Austin Peay nailed seven first-half three-pointers and eventually led by as much as 20, including a 49-29 halftime cushion.

Jordan Walker led the Eagles with 22 points, highlighted by 20 in the second half alone. Walker finished the year with 520 points.

A.J. Hicks, playing in his final collegiate game, dished out nine assists for the second straight night. He concluded the season with 190 helpers, which ranks as the second highest single-season total in program history.
