#ThrowbackThursday: Almesha Jones Passed Her Way to the top of the Record Book
JONES' 2014-15 GAME BY GAME STATS

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
It's still one of the best individual seasons in Morehead State women's basketball history - and it all centered around helping teammates put up points.

In 2014-15 Cincinnati, Ohio native and former Winton Woods High School star Almesha Jones' wizardry with the basketball led her to the only season in program history with more than 200 assists - 246 helpers to be exact. That's the MSU single-season record, and that helped Jones become the only player in program history as well with more than 500 career assists. She finished her career with 589 dimes.

But not only did Jones dish out the point producers, she led the team in scoring as well, averaging 17.8 points per game. For her efforts she was named First-Team All-OVC and to the Nancy Lieberman Watch List for the nation's top point guard.

While she was scoring at a high pace, her assist totals were the eye turners. Her 8.2 per game ranked second in the nation, and her season total was the third best assist total for a single-season in conference history. Jones ranked first in the nation (unofficially) in point production (points scored + assists on all field goals).

To this day, Jones ranks ninth in career assists in league history.

She had nine games with double-digit assists and six point-assist double-doubles. Jones tied the MSU single-game record with 16 handouts against Brescia (Ky.) on Nov. 24 that year.

For her career, Jones scored 1,443 points - good enough to rank 15th on MSU's 1,000-point club list.

Jones has stayed in the game of basketball, playing professionally overseas before coming back and serving as an assistant coach at Purcell-Marian High School.
