RESULTSĀ
MOREHEAD, Ky. ā Morehead State women's golf competed at the Edisto Island Invitational, finishing 9th in a field of 13 teams, carding a 307-294-304 ā 905. The finish marks an improvement for the Eagles from their last outing at the Plantation Course, bettering their placement by four.
Morehead State was led by sophomore
Olivia Hensley, who notched her third consecutive top-20 finish with an even paced 73-74-72 ā 219. Close behind her was fellow sophomore
MacKenzie Neal, who placed in the top-30 thanks to her 79-69-75 ā 333. Neal's score of two under par in the second round was the lowest individual score for Morehead State on their best day of the three day tournament.
Senior
Bridget Connolly, the only Eagle to have previously participated in the Edisto Island Invitational, improved her previous score by thirty strokes, carding a 76-83-76 ā 235.
The Eagles shot their best par-4 average as a team this season during the tournament, posting a 4.41 average, and
Olivia Hensley finished tied for 12th among the field with nine birdies.
The Eagles return to stroke play in two weeks when they travel to Bowling Green, Ky., to participate in the Olde Stone Intercollegiate hosted by Western Kentucky University. The two-day tournament runs Oct. 25-26.
