MOREHEAD, Ky. – Women's hoops head to the Lone Star State Tuesday to take on the #6 ranked Baylor Bears.
The matchup is a homecoming of sorts for head coach
Cayla Petree, who grew up in Cisco, Texas, and played collegiately at Texas Tech. The game is also Morehead State's first opportunity against a top-10 ranked opponent since their last visit to Waco, which resulted in a 94-47 defeat against the sixth ranked Bears.
The Eagles are coming off a performance at Bellarmine that saw Morehead State piece together their best half of the season, but ultimately fell in the late stages of the game to the Knights, 68-61.
Terri Smith notched a career-high 22 points as she led the Eagles to their best shooting percentage of the season.
Baylor, meanwhile, has opened their season at 6-1 and is coming off a three-game sweep in the Cancun Challenge, with victories over Fordham, Arizona State, and Houston.
Tip-off is slated for 8:00 p.m. ET and can be found on ESPN+ or listened to on the Eagle Sports Radio Network.
