MOREHEAD, Ky. – After a difficult loss against Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State women's hoops look to bounce back this weekend as they take on Big South opponent, USC Upstate, and Missouri Valley Conference challenger, Valparaiso.
The Eagles continued their trend of balanced scoring against EKU, with
Terri Smith leading Morehead State once again with nine points, while
Jada Claude and
Kaitlyn Keathley added eight points apiece. The Eagles were undone, however, by a 47-26 rebound margin in favor of the Colonels.
USC Upstate comes into Johnson Arena with a 7-2 record on the season, having won their last five games. The Spartans feature a trio of scorers averaging double figures and have had their only setbacks on the season coming at Clemson and Florida.
Valparaiso has struggled in the early season, still looking for their first win on the year. Sunday's matchup will be the seventh road contest for the Beacons this season, but will also be their first game in over a week since they last took the floor in a losing effort at South Dakota.
Both games can be watched on ESPN+ or listened to on the Eagle Sports Radio Network, with tip-offs slated for 2 PM and 1 PM ET.
