MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After earning a program-record nine OVC Freshman of the Week honors last season, Morehead State second-year center Johni Broome has now earned his first OVC Player of the Week accolade.

The OVC leader in double-doubles, Broome had 15 points and 11 rebounds in the Eagles' 59-51 win over Georgia Southern last week. He coupled that with six blocked shots for his fourth double-double in eight games.

Broome leads the conference in rebounding (10.0) and blocked shots (3.8) per game, ranking fourth in the nation in rejections. He now has 87 career blocks in 38 carer games.

Broome and the Eagles host Presbyterian Monday night at 7 p.m. ET.
