RESULTS

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Seven Morehead State rifle student-athletes earned all-conference honors, while head coach Alan Joseph was voted the 2021 Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year as the Eagles hosted the championships and finished second among the four teams.

The seven individuals earning all-conference tied the program best, also accomplishing that feat twice.

Junior Erin Diehl registered the event's second-best Smallbore score (582) and the fourth highest Air Rifle score (588) to be named First-Team All-Conference on both guns. Junior Amber Schifano and sophomore Grace Weber also earned First-Team honors in Air Rifle. A trio of Eagles were crowned Second-Team All-OVC in senior Ryan Hinson and sophomore Bryce Ward in Smallbore and junior Katie Frye in Air Rifle. Freshman Andrew Morris was named to the All-Newcomer team for Air Rifle.

Joseph was named the Coach of the Year for the second time in his tenure, also earning the accolade two seasons ago in 2019.

Weber led the Eagles in Air Rifle on Sunday, shooting a personal best 592. Following Diehl's 588, Schifano carded a 587. Frye rounded out the counting totals with a 585, while Morris shot a 580.

In Smallbore, Ward and Hinson each notched a 575, while Frye had a 572. Diehl tied her Smallbore standing personal best with with 194. Ward tied is Smallbore prone high-water mark with 199, while Weber tied her personal-best Smallbore prone with 197.
