Beach Volleyball Commences Spring Campaign in Alabama This Weekend
ROSTER | SCHEDULE

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Fresh off a historic indoor season, now its time for the volleyball program to turn its attention to the sand as the Beach Volleyball team commences its 2021 season Saturday at the OVC weekend at Jacksonville State.

The two-week beach season opens with a four-match slate at the JSU event, held at the South Beach in Anniston, Ala. MSU will face OVC foes UT Martin and affiliate member Chattanooga Saturday before playing Austin Peay and JSU Sunday. The spring beach season features 10 conference matches prior to the OVC Tournament set for April 29-May 1 at UTM.

The weekend will also give MSU's beach-specific student-athletes (Trinity Miller, Anya Reinhard, Margaret Musselman) their time to shine, along with the indoor athletes transitioning to the sand.

Morehead State has shown great success in beach the past two seasons. In 2019, MSU fashioned a 16-7 record before starting out 5-0 under head coach Kyrsten Becker in head-to-head matches in 2020 before the season was cut short.

The pairs of Musselman/Reinhard and Olivia Lohmeier/Allison Whitten were undefeated at 6-0 in 2020.

Following the weekend action, MSU will be at Eastern Kentucky Tuesday before hosting the Colonels for two on Wednesday in the lone home-match date. The match at eKU will not count for the OVC standings.

Results will be posted to MSUEagles.com as well as social media (@MSUEagles) when they are available. No live scoring or video will be conducted by JSU.
