ANNISTON, Ala. – Competing in Ohio Valley Conference matches for the first time in program history, Morehead State beach volleyball completed the first day of OVC play undefeated, taking both of its matches during the opening day of the OVC Weekend at Jacksonville State.

Morehead State took seven of 10 flights during the first day of action at South Beach Volleyball in Anniston, Ala. The Eagles took matches from UT Martin and Chattanooga to open OVC play, defeating the Skyhawks 4-1 before downing the Mocs 3-2.

The OVC Weekend at Jacksonville State continues Sunday as Morehead State wraps the weekend with a pair of matches. The Eagles meet Austin Peay at 11 a.m. ET before concluding the day with a match versus host Jacksonville State at 3 p.m.

• With Morehead State's 4-1 victory over UT Martin Saturday, the Eagles captured their first Ohio Valley Conference victory in its first official conference match since the OVC began sponsoring beach volleyball prior to the 2020 season.
• Combining for the first time since going 17-5 in 2019, juniors Hannah Keating and Allison Whitten captured a pair of flight victories on the opening day of the OVC Weekend at Jacksonville State. Improving to 19-5 the pair extended its program-record pairing flight victory total as the pair is the only in program history to combine for 10 or more victories.
• Capturing a flight victory against Chattanooga, junior Margaret Musselman and sophomore Anya Reinhard earned the pair's seventh career victory. The flight victory ties the pair for the fourth-most pairing flight victories in program history.
• With a flight victory versus UT Martin, senior Olivia Lohmeier captured her 28^th career flight victory, improving her program-record total. Whitten (25; two flight victories), Keating (24; two flight victories), junior Olivia Montelisciani (22; flight victory vs. UTM), and redshirt senior Liz Allen (19; flight victory vs. UTM) round out the remainder of the top-five.
• Earning a flight victory versus Chattanooga, Musselman captured her 18^th career flight victory, a total that ranks sixth in program history for individual flight victories.
