MOREHEAD, Ky. – After claiming five top-10 finishes in six events during the 2020-21 season, Morehead State women's golf heads into the 2021 Ohio Valley Women's Golf Championship seeking the program's second OVC Championship.

The 2021 OVC Women's Golf Championship returns to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove in Owens Cross Roads, Ala. after a three-year hiatus, having hosted the event from 2015-17 while being scheduled to host the event in 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic cancelled the event.

Morehead State has had success at Hampton Cove, claiming fourth and fifth-place finishes in 2016 and 2015, respectively. A pair of Eagles, Anna Magnusson and Linnea Scholin captured top-10 finishes at Hampton Cove as Magnusson claimed a fourth-place finish in 2015 and Scholin a 10th-place finish in 2016.

Redshirt senior Bridget Connolly and senior Gypsie Hutchinson carry Morehead State's OVC Golf Championship experience, combining for 12 total rounds at an OVC Championship. Hutchinson has played three of her nine rounds at Hampton Cove while she's posted a top-10 finish at the OVC Championship, placing ninth in 2018.

The Eagles enter following the Golfweek Spring Invitational in Pawleys Island, S.C., claiming a seventh-place finish. Three golfers, freshman Olivia Hensley, Connolly, and sophomore MacKenzie Neal, earned top-15 finishes, finishing tied for 13th, tied for 13th, and tied for 25th, respectively.

The three-day event tees off Sunday from the Highlands Course at RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove beginning with tee times every eight minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 9:32 a.m. ET. Rounds two and three commence Monday and Tuesday with each tee time being determined based on the previous rounds' leaderboard.

• Bridget Connolly finished the Golfweek Spring Invitational tied for sixth in the field in birdies, carding eight over three rounds. Of her eight birdies, four came in Tuesday's final round, helping her craft Morehead State's lowest individual round of the event (71; E).
• Tying for tenth in the field in birdies, Olivia Hensley carded seven birdies for Morehead State, including three in her final round Tuesday.
• MacKenzie Neal concluded the Golfweek Spring Invitational tied for third in the field in Par-3 Scoring, wrapping the event at even-par on Par-3s.
• Neal also led the Eagles with 30 total pars at the Golfweek Spring Invitational. On the season, she's carded 180 total pars across five events, averaging 36 per event.
