NOTABLE
- Senior right-hander Jake Ziegelmeyer is set to make his first start since May 17, 2018 on Tuesday. A part-time starter and reliever in the Eagles' OVC Championship season in 2018, Ziegelmeyer settled into the closer's role the past two seasons when he recorded 10 saves. He has missed some time due to injury this season. He pitched in relief in the Eagles' final game of 202 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

- Even though Tuesday's matchup is a non-conference variety, Morehead State finds itself atop the OVC standings six weeks into the league weekend schedule. The Eagles are 8-4, tied with Southeast Missouri (11-7), but MSU's league winning percentage is slightly higher than SEMO. EKU is in last place currently, but the Colonels are only four games back of MSU.

- Freshman first baseman Jackson Feltner finds himself as the number one ranked true freshman hitter in the nation currently. Feltner's 4-for-5 day against Eastern Illinois raised his batting average to .416. He ranks second in the OVC in average and first among currently active players. EIU's Logan Eickhoff is at .435 but has not played in several weeks.

- Feltner enters the week with a reached-base streak of 21 games and a hitting streak of 12 games. His reached-base streak currently ranks fourth in the OVC. Feltner ranks second in the OVC in multi-hit games with 13. During Feltner's 12-game hitting streak, the Louisa, Ky., native is batting a impressive .510 (24-of-48) with six doubles, three home runs, 20 RBI and an .816 slugging percentage.

- Freshman center-fielder Ryley Preece earned OVC Player of the Week accolades after his efforts at Austin Peay. Preece homered four times in the three-game series and batted .615. Preece carries a seven-game hitting streak into the week, batting .517 (15-of-29) during that span. In those seven games, he has six multi-hit performances.

- Senior second baseman Bryce Hensor is the OVC leader in runs scored. The leadoff hitter in all 31 games, Hensor has crossed the plate 40 times so far. He also carries an 11-game reached-base streak into the EKU contest.

- Senior lefty Cory Conway leads Division I in relief wins and ranks tied for second in the nation in overall wins with seven. Conway, who also leads the OVC, is 7-1 and now owns 17 wins in his career. That is tied for sixth in all-time wins in program history, tied with Tinker Chapman (1974-76) and Dalton Stambaugh (2017-19).

- As the calendar turned to April, Morehead State's offense really heated up. In the 11 games so far in April, the Eagles have produced double-digit hits in 10 of those. MSU has seven consecutive double-digit hit games. That's the longest streak of 10 or more hits in a game since an 11-game span from May 4-24, 2018.

- Another stat that stands out for the offense is doubles. Morehead State has legged out at least one double in 15 of the last 16 games and six games in a row. In those games, MSU has pounded out 15 doubles.

- Senior Jon Burghardt's grand slam to win the game against Eastern Illinois Friday was his second grand slam in a span of three games he had appeared in. He also went yard to clear the bases on April 9 at Austin Peay.

- The Eagles claimed three wins over Eastern Illinois this past weekend, marking the first time in program history to win three in the same year against the Panthers.
