Beach Volleyball Collects Season's First Sweep in Historic Mid-Week Contest
RICHMOND, Ky. – As the first opponent to compete against Eastern Kentucky on its new home courts, Morehead State beach volleyball played spoiler to the Colonels first home beach volleyball match, sweeping all five flights and the extra pairing to improve to 5-0 on the season after taking the non-conference matchup.

The sweep marked the first of the season for Morehead State during the 2021 campaign while pushing Morehead State's winning streak to 12 games, dating back to the final dual matches of the 2019 season. The streak also stands as the longest winning streak in program history.

The Eagles and Colonels run things back tomorrow afternoon, this time in Morehead, Ky. for a pair of OVC dual matches at Fazoli's Breadstick Beach. Match times are set for 2 and 4 p.m. ET.

NOTABLE
  • Teaming with Trinity Miller to win in the second flight, Olivia Lohmeier became the first player in program history to reach 30 career flight victories. For her career, she holds a 30-19 career record.
  • In addition to Lohmeier's program leading 30th flight victory, each of the program's top-five in individual flight victories captured wins Tuesday as Allison Whitten (27), Hannah Keating (26), Olivia Montelisciani (24), Liz Allen (21), and Margaret Musselman (21) all increased their career win total.
  • Earning the pairing's fourth victory of the season, the pair of Musselman and Anya Reinhard captured their 10th career flight pairing victory, becoming the second pair in program history to reach double-figure flight victories.
  • Picking up the pair's third flight victory of the season, Liz Allen and Olivia Montelisciani tied for fifth in career flight victories, improving to 7-3 as a pair.
