RESULTS
CHARLESTON, Ill. – A trio of Morehead State track records were broken this weekend at the OVC Track & Field Championship as the 2021 season came to a close for the Eagles.
For the second consecutive meet,
Kilani Harvey broke her own MSU record in the 100-meter with a time of 11.81 seconds to finish in fifth place in the event before besting her previous mark in the 200-meter as she crossed the line 24.12 to earn a sixth-place finish. The freshman represented all seven points earned by the MSU women's squad.
The final Morehead State record to fall was in the 4x100 meter relay as the team of
Maya Andrews, Harvey,
Sierra Kelley, and
Tayla Lee finished the event in 48.78 seconds.
Jarrett Mattingly earned 11 points for the men's team with a fourth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run (30:20.44) before placing third in the 5,000-meter event (14:31.47).
Michael Dunagan's seventh-place finish in the 800-meter event added two points for the Eagles as the Terre Haute, Ind., native crossed the line at 1:54.89. The four-man team of
Darby Pillow,
Wes Grogan,
Justin Bland, and Dunagan notched the final point for the men's squad, earning eighth place in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:30.77.
Garrett Watts notched a personal best in the 1,500-meter finals, as his 3:55.35 finish was good enough to earn ninth in the event.
Overall, the MSU men's team finished the meet in eighth place with 14 combined points while the women earned an eleventh-place finish with seven points.
