Olivia Hensley Claims Top-20 Finish as Eagles Wrap Up Golfweek Conference Challenge

RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State women's golf concluded play at the Golfweek Conference Challenge on Tuesday afternoon, where they finished the three-day event in 13th, shooting a 308-291-310--909. The event marked a tremendous improvement for the Eagles since their last appearance at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C. last spring, bettering their team score by 22 strokes.
Sophomore
Olivia Hensley led the Eagles, fashioning a 74-70-75 --219, good for a top 20 finish in what was the largest field the Eagles have competed against so far this season.
Fellow sophomore
MacKenzie Neal also turned in a strong performance for the Eagles, notching a top-40 finish with a 73-75-76 -- 224.
The team's best day of the tournament was round two, where they shot a 291, featuring Hensley's 70 (-1) and a 71 (E) from senior and reigning OVC Golfer of the Week,
Bridget Connolly.
The tournament featured only one other team from the Ohio Valley Conference, Tennessee Tech, who the Eagles outpaced by 32 strokes.
The Eagles return to stroke play on September 26 at the Briar Ridge Invitational in Schererville, Ind. The two-day event will be held at the Briar Ridge Country Club.
