MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Eagle's men and women's cross country teams competed in their first meet of the season at the EKU Dual, going head-to-head with the host school in a 4k race for the women and a 5k course for the men.
With an average time of 15:28.05, the women saw five runners place in the top ten, led by
Isabella Copher, who finished with a time of 15:19.55. Other top ten runners included
Lucy Singleton,
Laikin Tarlton,
Cloe Copas, and
Megan Bush, who all finished with sub-16 minute times.
On the men's side, Garrett Watts led the way with a sixth place finish, posting a time of 15:47.94. Other standouts for the team included Michael Dunagan, who ran a time of 16:15.57, and Kyle Embry, who posted a 16:16.18.
The Eagles will take the course again on Sept. 17 in Nashville, Tenn., at the Commodore Classic.
