CLASS OF 2020 INDUCTEES | MSU ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

MOREHEAD, Ky -- Rebecca (Butler) McKenney, one of the top softball student-athletes in program history, and Nick Feldman, an electrifying and record-setting football student-athlete, have been selected to be inducted into the Morehead State Athletics Hall of Fame for the 2021 class.

The pair will join 2020 selectees Matt Ballard (football head coach 1994-2012), Drew Lee (Baseball 2007-10), Casie Garland (Volleyball 2001-04) and Dr. Alexandra (Gjevre) Nail (Softball 2007-10) in all being honored and officially inducted during Hall of Fame weekend Feb. 11-12. Details of the induction ceremonies will be released this week.

A four-time All-OVC selection, including twice on the first-team, McKenney teamed with Nail to lead a resurgence in the program during her years 2008-11. Manning third base for the Eagles all four seasons, McKenney earned First-Team All-OVC in 2009 and 2011 and was a main catalyst in the Eagles winning 115 games during those four campaigns, the most wins of any four-year class.

McKenney's legacy has stood the test of time in the last 10 years. She still holds the program career records for games played (211), runs scored (117), hits (218), doubles (46), extra-base hits (77), total bases (356). She also owns the single-season total bases record (113) in 2011. 

Her career culminated in 2011 when she batted .389 with a .646 slugging percentage and 10 home runs. She wrapped up her four seasons second in career homers at MSU with 30. She led the team in hits three seasons and RBI twice.

As a true freshman in 2008, McKenney led the team with 14 doubles and hit .318 with a team-high 32 RBI. In 2009, she led the team with a .333 batting average and seven home runs while also adding 10 doubles and a team high 35 RBIs. A year later, she batted .306 with seven home runs and seven doubles and led the team with 76 total bases. 

From Pendleton, Ind., McKenney came to MSU after being a two-time all-state performer in high school.

McKenney graduated from Morehead State with her Bachelor's Degree in chemistry and minor in integrated science. She currently resides in her hometown and is a project manager for Eli Lilly and Company. Her and her husband Jason have two children, Wade and Caroline.

A native of Oconto, Wis., Feldman became one of the most dynamic receivers and kick return specialists in MSU and Pioneer League history during his playing days from 2005-08.

Even after more than 15 years post-playing time, Feldman still owns the PFL career record for most punt return touchdowns (4), highest punt return average in a season (18.96 in 2005), career punt return yardage (1,259) and career punt returns (103). All except season average are MSU records as well.

His first full season in 2005 culminated in him being named Football Gazette and Sports Network All-American. He was named First-Team All-PFL in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and earned PFL Special Teams Player of the Week three times. 

Feldman accumulated 1,728 career receiving yards to rank seventh in program history but third at the time of graduation. He also ranks sixth in career receptions with 112, which was second at the time.

Feldman was also tabbed First-Team Academic All-PFL a total of four times (for two positions in 2008) and to the PFL Academic Honor Roll four times.

He is currently residing in El Dorado Hills, Calif. Feldman earned his Bachelor's Degree in sports management from MSU and is currently employed with Equipment Depot as an asset analytics manager.
