• Morehead State has owned the series against SEMO since the 2007-08 season, going 20-3 against the Redhawks in the past 15 years. Morehead State has also won nine of the last 10 meetings in Johnson Arena, and in four of those meetings here MSU scored 80+ points. The teams played a classic though earlier this season with the Eagles edging the Redhawks 74-73 in overtime on Jan. 27.

Preston Spradlin joins Donnie Tyndall as the only coaches to lead teams to back to back 20-win seasons at MSU. This year also marks just the ninth 20-win result in program history.

Johni Broome nearly missed the rare triple-double at UT Martin with 19 points, school-record tying 12 blocks and nine rebounds. Only one known triple-double has been accomplished in program history (Xavier Moon in 2016-17, who played with the Los Angeles Clippers this season).

Johni Broome's 12 blocked shots at UT Martin on Feb. 16 tied Ron Nicholson's single-game school record he set in 1972 at Toledo. Broome tied Nicholson exactly 50 years and seven days later. The 12 bocks also is tied with Auburn's Walker Kessler for the most in a Division I game this season an was officially just one short of former Youngstown State 7-footer Ricky Tunstall's OVC single-game record.

Johni Broome's 12 blocks at UT Martin give him 113 for the season now, just two shy of tying Ron Nicholson for the MSU single-season record. Nicholson's record of 115 was set 50 years ago in 1971-72. Broome is already in third place in career blocks at MSU with 169 and only two players (Kenneth Faried 241 and Bob McCann 224) have ever rejected 200+ in their careers.

Johni Broome will reach 300 for the season and become just the 12th player in program history to secure 300+ rebounds in a season. With repeats, it has only happened on 18 occasions in program history as well (Kenneth Faried and Steve Hamilton three times each). It will also mark the first 300+ rebound total since Chad Posthumus' 370 in 2013-14.

Johni Broome has now recorded 20 double-doubles in 2021-22. That's tied with former Austin Peay great Terry Taylor and Murray star Ja Morant for the most in the past five seasons in the OVC. Austin Peay's Chris Horton had 25 in 2015-16, while the MSU and known OVC record is 28 by former MSU star Kenneth Faried in 2010-11.
• Ta'Lon Cooper has handed out 171 assists this season, which ranks fourth in Division I in total assists. Cooper's career assist total stands at 376, which ranks him fifth in program history as only four Eagles have ever registered 400+ assists (Marquis Sykes, Ricky Minard, Howard Wallen and Demonte Harper).

Tray Hollowell's three-point string has climbed to 34 straight games. Hollowell is attempting to become the first MSU player in program history to hit at least one three-pointer in every game he appears in during a single season.

Tray Hollowell's 76 three-pointers is the fifth best single-season total in program history. The record is 95 by Maze Stallworth in 2009-10.
• Morehead State is 24-2 at home in the last two seasons. The 20-game home winning streak snapped last weekend was the second longest success streak at home in program history.
