Women's Hoops Wraps Up Season With Final Road Trip

MOREHEAD, Ky. –
Preparing for their final road trip of the season, women's basketball travels to Illinois to take on EIU Thursday before their season concludes Saturday at SIUE.

Morehead State forced SEMO into 13 turnovers, good for 22 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Redhawks, falling 70-62. Jada Claude led the way for Morehead State, leading all scorers with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Julan McDonald notched her second career double-double, adding 12 points and 10 rebounds of her own.

EIU snapped a three-game losing streak at Tennessee State Saturday, improving to 9-7 in conference play. Lariah Washington finished with a team-high 19 points to go alongside a team-high six assists and six rebounds. Abby Wahl finished the night with 16 points and nine rebounds, becoming the 10th player in EIU school history with 1,200 career points and 600 career rebounds.

SIUE dropped to 6-10 in conference play after Belmont grabbed a 23-9 advantage in the first quarter in Saturday's matchup. Mikia Keith led the way for the Cougars with nine points while Mikayla Kinnard scored eight points, and Ajulu Thatha and Mikala Hall each scored seven points.

Both games can be watched on ESPN+ or listened to on the Eagle Sports Radio Network, with tip-offs slated for 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. ET.

NOTABLE
Julan McDonald recorded the second double-double of her collegiate career on Saturday against SEMO, posting 12 points and 10 rebounds. McDonald now has recorded double figure scoring in five of her last six games, and her 9.9 points per game in conference play puts her in the top 25 in the OVC.

• The last time Morehead State played EIU was in their opening conference game. The Eagles had three scorers reach double figures, Terri Smith with 18 points, Jada Claude with 16 points and Tyler Moore connecting on a season-high four three pointers for 12 points.

• Morehead State currently sits 5th in the conference in three throw percentage during conference play, hitting 70% of their shots from the charity stripe. The Eagles currently have four players who make more than 70% of their free throws.

Jada Claude sits 6th in the conference in scoring and 4th in rebounding, with 15.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per conference game which is also the highest totals among newcomers in the OVC.

Terri Smith is currently 3rd in the conference in made three pointers, cashing in 28 shots from long range an average 1.9 made threes per game.

• Morehead State has the third most blocks in the OVC, with 52 rejections during conference play. Julan McDonald leads the team with 28 blocks, and is 2nd in the OVC with 1.6 blocked shots per conference game.

• Morehead State has tied their opponent in the first quarter in three of their last four games, and have tied or outscored their opponent in at least one quarter of every rematch this season.
