MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State handled the full court pressure from the Cougars well for most of the game, and actually had more steals than SIUE, but they couldn't withstand SIUE's hot shooting, with the Cougars connecting on 41 percent of their shots.
Julan McDonald shined in her final collegiate game, scoring a career-high 24 points to lead all scorers with a season high three makes from behind the arc.
Alana Denson also had a season high with 15 points, and
Tyler Moore ended her collegiate career in double figures as well, with 11 points on a trio of three point baskets.
The Eagles were put behind early after a fast start from SIUE, but battled back in the second quarter on the strength of an 11 point performance from Denson to slice the lead to 46-33 at halftime.
The Eagles continued to pressure the Cougars into the second half, making five straight baskets and launching an 11-2 run to get within 10 points of SIUE, but the firepower from the Cougars was too much to handle, as maintained their double digit cushion throughout the second half, and ultimately dropped their season finale.
