MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After opening with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Eastern Kentucky Saturday morning, Morehead State Beach Volleyball continued play in the College of Charleston Classic in the afternoon. The Eagles absorbed a 5-0 loss to Coastal Carolina.

At No. 1, Allison Whitten and Olivia Lohmeier put up a battle before dropping a 3-set contest, 23-25, 21-14, 13-15. On court two, Anya Reinhard and Trinity Miller succumbed 21-15, 21-15. In the third pairing Bella Williams ans Olivia Montelisciani also fell be the exact same scores.

At No. 4, Margaret Musselman and Abby Hulsman slipped 21-15, 21-9, and on the fifth court, Raegan Alexander and Bridget Bessler absorbed a 21-8, 21-14 setback. Irene Wogenstahl and Andrea Grimes also fell in straight sets in the extra pairing.

The Eagles wrap up the two-day event on Sunday with matches against Jacksonville at 1:30 p.m. ET and the host College of Charleston at 4:30 p.m.
