MOREHEAD, Ky.— Morehead State men's golf triumphed over Northern Kentucky in their first match play event of the season. Due to the difficult weather conditions in the morning, the teams played nine-hole matchups, before reverting to full 18-hole matchups in the afternoon. The Eagles claimed 12.5 victories over the Norse, including three outright match wins. 
 
Fifth-year Joe Muschong swept his matchups, giving him the program record for all-time match play victories with seven. Blake Evans and Zac Viminitz joined Muschong in going 2-0 in the afternoon. 
 
Sophomore Jon Kosier won his morning matchup and tied in the afternoon, a result that was matched by redshirt freshman Andrew Marrs. The Eagles also received match play victories from Nolan Piazza, Cameron Travis, and Mason McGhee. 
 
The Eagles return to the links Monday at the Butler Spring Invitational. The two-day event tees off from the Highland Country Club in Indianapolis, Ind.
