MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After taking two of three from Murray State at Allen Field to open OVC play and a 4-2 victory at Northern Kentucky Tuesday, the Morehead State baseball team will look to stay hot as they head to Tennessee Tech for a three-game set. The Eagles (10-14) have won three straight but face a tall task as the Golden Eagles (15-8) lead the OVC in both home runs (44) and batting average (.313).
 
Friday's game starts at 7 p.m. ET, Saturday's game starts at 3 p.m., and a 2 p.m. first pitch will begin the series finale on Sunday. All three games are available on ESPN+ with live stats available as well.

• Last Start (3/26 vs. Murray State): 5.0 IP, six hits, six runs (two earned), two walks, five strikeouts, no decision.

• Morehead State has won three straight games, its longest winning streak this season.
• The bullpen has been a bright spot for Morehead State recently, as relief pitchers have given up only two runs in the last three games. This past Sunday, a bullpen day for the Eagles, saw Morehead State pitching strikeout 18 batters in a 10-2 victory over Murray State, a season high.
• Alex Jacobs extended his hitting streak to 14 games in the win over Northern Kentucky, as his RBI single in the sixth gave the Eagles a lead they never lost. Jacobs has started all 24 games for MSU this season, and has reached base in 22 straight. Both of those streaks are team bests in 2022, and the longest since Jackson Feltner put together a 27- game hitting streak and 36-game on-base streak in 2021.
• Jackson Feltner currently sits in the top five of nearly every hitting category for the Eagles this season. He is second in batting average (.340), doubles (seven), runs scored (20), and home runs (five), while leading the team in total bases (54), hits (32, eighth in the OVC), RBI (21, ninth in the OVC), and slugging percentage (.574).
• Ryley Preece has been a thorn in the side of opposing pitchers all season long. As it stands, Preece is slashing .291/.348/.494. He leads the team in runs scored (25, fifth in the OVC), walks (22, first in the OVC), and home runs with six, good for a six-way tie for fifth place in the conference.
• Colton Becker has had a fine season at the plate thus far. The Eagles' shortstop currently sits in a tie for first in the OVC in sacrifice bunts with four, and leads Morehead State in doubles with eight, good for fifth in the conference.
• Closing pitcher John Bakke is third in the OVC in saves so far with five. The veteran lefty recorded an eight-out save on Tuesday, retiring all eight Northern Kentucky batters in order. Bakke has 28 strikeouts to only six walks on the season and has been highly effective out of the bullpen for Mik Aoki with an ERA of 1.86 and a 0.88 WHIP.
• Jarrett Miller has often been Bakke's set up man this season, and has been great in that role in 2022. The right-hander has 21 strikeouts on the season in 20.1 innings, and is third in the country in appearances with 16 in 24 games so far this season.
• Friday starter Luke Helton struck out seven Murray State Racers in his last start, a season high for him. He has pitched at least four innings in all six of his starts so far this season.
• Tennessee Tech started 2022 off 10-0, but have fallen on hard times as of late, losing two out of three to Bradley over the weekend, and falling 8-4 to Middle Tennessee on Tuesday.
