MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Morehead State's beach volleyball team turned the tide on a previous loss to Austin Peay as the Eagles wrapped up the 2022 regular season by defeating the host Govs 3-2 Saturday at OVC Weekend. That came after falling 4-1 to Chattanooga to open the day.

Morehead State, which is hosting the OVC Tournament this week at Fazoli's Breadstick Beach, finished 9-9 and 3-5 in the league. The Eagles will be the No. 4 seed in the event and play No. 5 Eastern Illinois to open the tournament Thursday at Noon ET.

Against the Govs, No. 1 pair Olivia Lohmeier and Allison Whiten sealed the win. Leading 2-1 already, the pair defeated their foes 21-19, 21-19 to ice the victory. Morehead State also claimed wins at Nos. 4 and 5. On the fourth court, Trinity Miller and Abby Hulsman won in straight sets, 21-12, 21-13. Bridget Bessler and Raegan Alexander rallied for a 17-21, 21-17, 15-13 win on court five.

Miller and Hulsman also claimed the Eagles' lone win in the match versus Chattanooga, winning 21-12, 17-21, 15-8. The pair are now 3-1 together this year.
