Baseball Eagles and 'Herd Set for Re-Match Tuesday in West Virginia

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Following a 2-2 record in their final homestand, the Morehead State baseball team heads east on I-64 Tuesday for the second game with Marshall. The Eagles took the first game between the two clubs at Allen Field last Tuesday 9-5. The game is set to commence at 3 p.m. ET at the Kennedy Center field.

The Eagles held off SIUE 16-15 in seven innings Sunday, while the 'Herd dropped the third game at Old Dominion, being swept. Marshall has lost nine of its last 10 games.

- Alex Jacobs extended his on-base streak to 47 games over the weekend, and had a big game in the second half of Sunday's doubleheader. Jacobs launched a two-run homer (his fourth of the season) in the win.

- Jackson Feltner has homered in three straight games. The reigning OVC Freshman of the Year smashed solo shots in the first and second games of the SIUE series, and hit a two-run blast to right field in the first inning of the finale.

- Roman Kuntz and Chase Vinson both had a two-home run game in Sunday's first contest vs. SIUE. Vinson had a two-homer game vs. Belmont earlier in the season, and Kuntz homered again in Sunday's second contest.

- Nick Gooden posted his first career four-hit game vs. SIUE on Sunday, going 4-5 with four singles.

- Brody Shoupe has been elite behind the plate in 2022, posting a .988 fielding percentage. Shoupe has started 31 games for the Eagles this season, and has only committed three errors.

- Joe Rotkis has been effective in long relief appearances this season. On the season, Rotkis has a 2-2 record with a 5.91 ERA.
