MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State baseball hosts Interstate 64 rival Marshall for its final home non-conference tilt Tuesday. First pitch at Allen Field has been moved up to 5 p.m. ET.
The Eagles are coming off a series win at Eastern Illinois - a rare feat for the program. But MSU has now won two straight series when playing at EIU prior to only having done it once since the Panthers became OVC members in 1997. The 'Herd dropped two of three at UTSA in Conference USA action this past weekend and have lost five of their last six.

NOTABLE
- Grad student left-fielder Alex Jacobs' on-base streak stayed intact at Eastern Illinois, reaching in all three games. Jacobs streak is now at 43 games, which is the best in the OVC. After a 23-game hitting streak earlier this season, Jacobs has also put together another double-digit hit streak at 11 currently. He has a hit in 34 of his last 35 games and has reached base safely in 44 of the Eagles' 45 games this year.
- Sophomore Ryley Preece also has a lengthy on-base streak going, having reached in 27 straight contests. The Eagles' leadoff hitter has failed to get a hit in eight of those games but has drawn at least one walk. Preece leads the OVC in walks with 39.
- Morehead State's pitching staff boasts the OVC leader in ERA, games started and appearances - all different guys. John Bakke, who has moved into the weekend rotation from closer, leads the league with a 2.52 ERA. Luke Helton, No. 1 weekend starter, leads with 12 games started, while Jarrett Miller leads the circuit with 27 appearances.
- Morehead State has made a knack for rallies in 2022. The Eagles have won five games when trailing heading into the seventh inning. That's in large part due to a propensity for late scoring flurries. MSU has scored 62 runs in the eighth and ninth innings combined.
- Sophomore Jackson Feltner is certainly making another case for a major postseason award from the league and All-America honors. He's batting .385 and ranks second in the OVC hits (70), third in total bases (124), fourth in doubles (16) and sixth in home runs (12).
- Second baseman Nick Gooden leads all Eagle hitters against OVC foes. He's batting .394 in conference matchups. He's certainly a candidate for a most improved award if there was one in the league. Last season, Gooden only saw action in seven games and batted .083.
- Sophomore Colten Becker is not afraid to take one for the team. He leads the Eagles with 10 sacrifice bunts and also has three sacrifice fly outs. After batting .211 last year, he has improved as well, now hitting .298 with 15 doubles.
- Minus the COVID-shortened season in 2020, Morehead State has had eight consecutive seasons with an above .500 home record.
- The Eagles boast a batting average of 38 points better (.312 to .274) than opponents when playing at Allen Field. That includes transfer Roman Kuntz, who is hitting a incredible .446 at home in 13 games. Jackson Feltner is batting .432 in the home batter's box.
