Baseball's Feltner Tabbed Appalachian League June Player of the Month
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Following a stellar sophomore campaign in 2022 which saw him garner First Team All-OVC honors, baseball's Jackson Feltner has stayed hot in the Appalachian League, taking home the league's June Player of the Month Award.

In a league featuring student-athletes from Power Five schools, Feltner could not be stopped in the month of June. The first baseman paced the league in batting average last month, posting a .372/.436/.543 triple slash, finishing with 35 hits, 22 RBI, 22 runs, and four home runs. That success has carried over into July, as Feltner has already homered twice this month for the Bluefield Ridge Runners.

During the 2022 season, Feltner followed up on his OVC Freshman of the Year campaign with an outstanding offensive season, leading the Eagles in nine offensive categories, including batting average (.393), on base percentage (.478), OPS (1.184), home runs (17), RBI (51), hits (84), and total bases (151). 34 of his 84 hits were extra-base hits. The Louisa, Ky., native started all 54 games for Morehead State in 2022.

Jackson will return to Allen Field for Mik Aoki's Eagles in 2023, as Morehead State looks to capture their sixth OVC Tournament title next season.
