Rifle Competes Against UK Saturday; Wilson Leads Way with Career High Air Total

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Rifle competed head-to-head against Kentucky Saturday in the Kentucky Long Rifle match at Barker Hall. 

Senior Cassidy Wilson had a highlight day, with a personal-best 593 in Air Rifle. Despite her efforts, the Eagles couldn't keep pace with the Wildcats as UK out-shot MSU 4,727-4,661.

In Air, graduate student Grace Weber stayed consistent, shooting a 592 for the third straight match. Senior Andrew Morris (588), freshman Maria Koenig (587) and sophomore Adrianna Beard (586) also had solid days on the range.

In Smallbore, Beard's 580 led the team. Koenig (576), graduate student Bryce Ward (574) and Wilson (572) all shot better than 570. 

The Eagles finished at 2,359 in Air and had a 2,302 SB total.

Next action for MSU sees the Eagles travel to Alabama to face former OVC rival Jacksonville State next Saturday.
