NOTABLE
• MSU holding Shawnee State to just 40 points last week was the first time the program had held an opponent to 40 points or less since Jan. 12, 2010 when Southeast Missouri scored 40.

• Transfer Riley Minix ranks second in the OVC in scoring (18.3) in the early going. He scored team highs of 19 and 18, respectively, at ranked opponents Alabama and Purdue. Minix also had his first Division I double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds versus Shawnee. Minix scored more than 2,000 points and had 1,000+ rebounds in four seasons at Southeastern (Fla.).

• Freshman Eddie Ricks III averaged 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in his first collegiate week, including an 18-point game against Shawnee State.

Jordan Lathon made his Eagle debut last week after sitting out last season. The Milwaukee transfer averaged 10.3 points, including 12 at Purdue and 14 at Alabama.

• Senior guard Drew Thelwell could become the winningest individual player in program history this season. If the Eagles win 19 more games, that will give the four-year Eagle 88 wins when he was on the team. That would surpass Terrence Hill, who was a part of 87 wins from 2008-09 through 2011-12.

• The Eagles have scored exactly the same amount of points in both halves in the first three games - 113.

• Head coach Preston Spradlin has moved up to fourth place in career coaching wins in program history with 115, surpassing Donnie Tyndall's 114 from 2007-12.

• Morehead State is the winningest Division I MBB program in Kentucky in the past three seasons with 69 wins.

• Morehead State has one of, if not, the most experienced rosters in all of Division I. The Eagles have eight either graduate transfers or seniors on the roster,  making up 53 percent of the entire roster for 2023-24.
