Riley Minix has been voted the Ohio Valley Conference Player and Newcomer of the Week.
A transfer from Southeastern (Fla.), Minix continued his impressive transition to Division I by averaging a double-double and shooting 55 percent overall in wins at Austin Peay and at home versus Chattanooga.
He helped the Eagles to a 61-50 win at former OVC foe APSU Wednesday with 17 points and nine rebounds while adding two assists and a steal. Minix erupted for a career-high 25 points while securing his third double-double with 11 rebounds to go along with four assists and two blocked shots in the 87-80 win over Chattanooga Sunday.
Minix is pacing the 6-3 Eagles in scoring (17.1 ppg), rebounding (8.3 rpg) and steals (12 total).
