Women's Hoops Season Comes to a Close in Quarterfinals

EVANSVILLE, IN --
Women's basketball held SEMO to just 14.3 percent from deep in a 2-for-14 shooting performance, but fell 77-38 in the quarterfinals of the OVC Tournament Thursday. 

Hallie Rhodes led the Eagles with seven points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Jayden Rhodes tacked on seven points and two steals and Sandra Lin chipped in as well with three points, four assists and two steals.

Led by Hallie Rhodes' four offensive rebounds, Morehead State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 12 boards that resulted in seven second chance points.

The Eagles finished the season 11-20 overall, the third best win improvement in Divison I currently. 

How It Happened

Morehead State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 16-7 at the end of the first quarter.

The Eagles continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 32-16 halftime deficit.

Morehead State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Eagles faced a 52-26 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Morehead State took advantage of seven SEMO turnovers in the quarter, scoring three points off of takeaways.

» Veronica Charles is only the second Eagle player ever with 90+ steals in a single season, finishing the year with 91 total steals. 
» Sandra Lin's 162 assists is the sixth best single-season total in program history. 
» The Morehead State bench came alive by adding 12 points to its scoring output.
» The Morehead State defense forced 18 turnovers.
» Morehead State cleaned up on the offensive glass, collecting 12 offensive boards in the game.
