MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State baseball team fell down 4-2 after the top of the fourth on Thursday, but stormed back in explosive fashion, scoring 16 unanswered runs to topple Canisius in the series opener 18-4 to win its fourth straight game.
Riley Bradshaw (1-1) started on the mound and picked up the win for Morehead State (17-12). The southpaw went four innings, giving up four runs, two earned, on six hits, allowing one walk and striking out four. Senior Joe Rotkis also made an impact on the mound for the Eagles, throwing five scoreless innings while allowing six hits, with no walks and two strikeouts on his way to a five inning save.
Every Morehead State starter notched a hit in the game, led by Colton Becker's second three-hit game in a row, Roman Kuntz's grand slam, and two home runs from Chase Vinson.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Morehead State opened the scoring with two runs in the first, as Colton Becker drove in a pair with a triple to right. After falling behind 4-2, a six run fourth inning gave the Eagles a lead they never lost, as Chase Vinson tied the game with a two-run homer before Roman Kuntz smashed a grand slam to make the score 8-4. The Eagles scored in every inning the rest of the way (for a total of 16 unanswered runs) on the way to an 18-4 victory.
