MARION, Ill. -- The Morehead State baseball team won on a walkoff single for the second straight day on Friday, as Jackson Feltner drove in Carter Owens with an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth.Â
John Bakke (6-3) got the win out of the bullpen for Morehead State (36-19). The southpaw went 1.1 shutout innings, giving up two hits. Grant Herron started the ballgame and went seven shutout innings while allowing seven hits, walking none and striking out six, bouncing back from a couple rough starts with a clutch performance for his team.Â
In the batter's box, the Eagles were paced by junior Roman Kuntz, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a double, two walks and an RBI, making him 6-7 in the OVC Tournament. Feltner put together a standout effort as well, going 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Jacob Ferry also helped out for Morehead State, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a double and a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Eagles got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Feltner came across to score the lone run of the inning for Morehead State and get them on the board.
The Eagles then held the Trojans scoreless before expanding their lead in the fifth inning. Morehead State scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Kuntz, which brought the Eagles lead to 2-0.
Little Rock then rallied to tie the ballgame at 2-2 before Morehead State walked it off in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI single off the bat of Feltner.
