Football Eagles Ready to Defend Home Turf Against Drake in PFL Battle Saturday

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
  After nearly a month of games away from home, Morehead State football finally gets to showcase its talents again on the new turf at Jayne Stadium Saturday. PFL foe Drake visits the Daniel Boone National Forest as the teams tee it up and kick off at 2 p.m. ET.

The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Radio Network with WIVY-96.3 FM serving as flagship station. Chuck Mraz, Jason Blanton and Tom Lewis provide the radio call. Fans can also hear it on MSUEagles.com, WGOH-100.9 FM/1370 AM and WMST-106.9 FM/1150 AM. The game will stream live on ESPN+ with Jared Stacy and Hunter Hurst teaming up as the voices for the second straight season.

Drake is a program MSU has not faced since the 2019 season. Overall, Drake leads the series 10-3. MSU is 3-3 all-time against Drake at home, including a 38-35 triple overtime thriller in 2015.

GAME NOTES

• Two of the Eagles' three games so far have been decided by seven points or less.

• Morehead State ranks first in the PFL in third down conversion percentage (46%), passing yardage (244.7) and time of possession (33:59).

•  Quarterback Carter Cravens ranks first in the PFL in total passing yards (718) and passing yards per game (239.3). Cravens has seven TD passes in three games. His 270.2 total offense per game ranks 20th among all FCS players.

•  Junior kicker Nathan Hazlett is on the Fred Mitchell Award preseason watch list for the second consecutive season. The Award is presented annually to the nation's top place-kicker in FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA and NJCAA for excellence on the football field and in the community. So far Hazlett is 4-of-4 on field goals and 9-of-10 on PATs.

• Morehead State leads the PFL and ranks ninth in the nation with its 33:59 per game time of possession.

• The Eagles had four scoring drives at St. Thomas, all seven plays or more. MSU also had four scoring drives at Mercer of seven plays or more (three of 10 or more). Seven of the Eagles' offensive drives that have resulted in points have been 10 or more plays.

• Receiver Kyle Daly had the Eagles' first 100-yard game at St. Thomas, with 107 on six catches and a TD. Daly has caught a TD in two straight games and leads MSU with more than 60 yards per game on average.

•  Defensive back Cooper Krezek ranks second in the PFL in solo tackles per game with 5.0. Krezek has upped his career tackle total to 237. Sixty-two (62) percent of his career total tackles have been solo stops.

• Running back Caleb Ramseur rushed for a career-high 74 yards at St. Thomas and scored twice. Ramseur is averaging 121.7 all-purpose yards per game. He ranks second in the league and 24th nationally in all-purpose yards.

•  Defensive back Jihad McCall collected MSU's first interception of the year at St. Thomas. McCall is looking for his first blocked punt of 2023, after recording an FCS best four blocks last season.

•  MSU's season captains are Nathan Hazlett, James Louis and Cooper Krezek.

•  Linebacker Jahleel Holmes averages nearly 9 tackles per game and is tied with fellow linebacker Andre Nolan-White for the team lead with 2.5 TFLs.
